Working within maternity and birth care can be deeply meaningful, but it can also be emotionally demanding, complex, and at times overwhelming.
Many birth workers spend so much time caring for others that they have little protected space to reflect on the emotional impact of the work they carry.
I offer reflective supervision for:
As both a qualified counsellor and experienced midwife, I understand the unique emotional landscape of birth work - including trauma exposure, compassion fatigue, moral distress, burnout, grief, responsibility, identity, and the pressure of working within overstretched systems.

My specialist area of research is supervision for birth workers. Over many years, I noticed that birth professionals often came to me seeking counselling when what they were truly needing was reflective supervision: a safe, containing space to think, process, decompress, and reconnect with themselves professionally and personally.
This work is not about performance management or clinical assessment. It is about support, reflection, emotional wellbeing, and sustainable practice.
I am PMA trained and bring over 30 years of counselling experience into my supervision practice.
